In November 2019 SDS were awarded the contract to install the ventilation services in the newly built Leigh Academy in Blackheath, South East London.

The contract included the installation of all ventilation ductwork for the entire campus, including all MVHR units, kitchen fire rated extracts and MEV extract systems.

The project was originally difficult, due to a very tight programme and very limited site access, this was made significantly more difficult with the advent of the COVID 19 pandemic, during which unfortunately some members of the main contractors site team lost their lives to COVID 19. The site was one of the first to re-open during the first lockdown and all site staff were deemed ‘Essential Workers’ and given authority to travel during lockdown. The project was completed to a very high standard in August 2020  and the school opened in time for the September 2020 term.
